As I read this, I have two windows open, both with three or more tabs (many many more) open, a to-do list next to me, piles of paper next to me, and wonder why a) I'm behind, and b) why I keep getting migraines! You're a smart lady, Jess. I'm gonna give this a try today. As soon as I finish my blog reading....

It's so funny that you wrote about this today! Last night I was re-reading and older Real Simple magazine {I wish I was home so I could tell you exactly which one} and they had one guys account of trying to become a unitasker. The author was absolutely hilarious and I laughed by myself as I read it. It was inspiring & funny...I would reccommend everyone to look it up in the archieves!!

Just found your blog (I know, where have I been?) am I'm loving it.

I've been thinking a lot about the idea of single tasking bc all the multi tasking I've been doing is making me both frazzled and less than effective. Thanks for this post.

Closing some of my FF tabs now...

This is one of my top new year's resolutions! This and spending less time on Facebook :) I jump around like crazy online. I'll open a few things, then a few more, intending to get to all of them- but then forgetting what I was doing in the first place. Meanwhile, I have the TV on, my to-do "notebook" in front of me and bills spread out. Crazy! I've noticed that I forget what I'm doing and feel like I haven't really accomplished anything when I finally shut down the computer. Thanks for posting about this! It is very timely!

I like the sound of this. Not sure I'm ready to commit. But I think I'm going to dabble with it and see how it feels.

I'm trying this out, too. It's so counter to how I'm accustomed to working, but I agree that it makes you feel smarter. I find that when I focus on one project at a time, I come up with better ways of doing or even just questions about the process. Whereas before, I just got it done.

The struggle I have, though, is that my mind seems to want to jump all over the place. I can't always force myself to single task.

I'm working on cutting back on the amount of things I do at once. I think its harder to focus and do just one thing after being used to multi-tasking with three or more things. I do feel a little more accomplished now when I get one thing ticked off my To-Do list at a time.
